[net.micro.atari] 520ST TOS Bugs

[]
After playing with the machine this weekend, I found out some interesting
facts, and minor TOS bugs which I thought I would pass on here.
[]
1) Ever get TOS error 2? It means you're trying to delete a read-only
file...Do a show info and change the status.

2) Don't make a folder with EXACTLY 8 characters...TOS flakes and may make
the disk unusable.

3) Don't create more than 99 items on a disk (not too hard to do on a
double sided drive)...The system mushrooms.

4) Don't have two directries open at the same time that are close to full.
Mushrooms again.

5) Don't let the DESKTOP.INF file get too full. It appears that after about
600 or so bytes, it mucks up the world (result of installing too many
applications). In that case, delete it and start all over.

6) Problem with double sided boot disks? I found you can't just copy
from a single side and patch the sector count and side count.
There is also a checksum at the end that must be calculated for it to
be valid!!!!! Oh, for decent flow of information!

I'd appreciate hearing any similar tidbits from others, hopefully BEFORE
I crash into them!
