[net.micro.atari] terminal emulator including graphics for ST?

physics@utcs.uucp (David Harrison) (12/06/85)

I've been playing with a ST loaned from ATARI for this week, including
the developer's kit. Having a lot of fun breaking the C-compiler,
finding out that the vt52 emulator only works so-so, benchmarking,
the usual stuff. The machine clearly has a huge amount of potential
waiting to be mined. The problem for me is that I need a good
terminal emulator with graphics right now to make the buy (we're
talking 6 or 8).
Since initially we will be running these guys under UNIX we don't
care if they are vt100 emulators or whatever, so long as they have
standout mode, clear screen and cursor motions. As for graphics, we
are fairly device independent through an extension to termcap/terminfo,
and can run Tek graphics, HP, anything sensible. So far I haven't
managed to track down a good terminal emulation program. I would be
pleased with any of the PC programs such as PC-LINK III. Any leads?

i have seen PC InterComm and i can't praise it enough, it is a full (as
best i can tell) vt100 emulator with such features as kermit and
xmodem protocals, and screen grap; its also very easy to use with
user definable setup files. Only problem is i cant remember who
makes it but your local atari store should be able to help you.
