[net.micro.atari] GETTING ATARI 520ST BASIC

terrell@OHIO-STATE.CSNET (Eric Terrell) (12/03/85)

When I bought my 520ST a few days ago, I discovered that a BASIC interpreter
was not included on the language disk. Atari's advertising of the 520ST
mentions that BASIC is included in the system - so how do I get a copy of
the BASIC interpreter and the associated documentation?

Also, can anyone recommend any magazines that have articles about the 520ST

Thanks,

Eric Terrell (CSNET ADDRESS terrell@ohio-state)

If you sent in your warranty/registration, then you will automatically
receive a copy of ST BASIC (with documentation) in a couple of weeks.
Both Atari-specific magazines, Antic and Analog, are good sources for
information on the ST.

Eric,
If you send in your registration card you should get BASIC in the mail.
If you can't wait you should be able to find plenty of copies floating
around at your nearest Atari computer store or user's group. It is free
and not copy protected.

To Eric and anyone interested:
Atari has said that anyone who has sent in their
warranty cards will receive Atari BASIC and the BASIC manual.

If you can't wait to get the BASIC from Atari, let me know as
I can send you a copy of BASIC (I only have the program itself --
no documentation). If interested, send a check for $3.00 made out to:

Aloha,

Sorry I forgot to include this, but the best magazine I've seen for the
ST would have to be Antic. Of course there is also Analog, but I haven't
been as impressed.

Anybody seen the game "Hacker" for the ST? It is supposed to be *awesome*
I will be able to give a review in the near future...

Wishing for an ST, right Santa?

I got the disk and a copy of the manual free from my dealer.
All dealers should now have this stuff, but if yours doesn't, Atari
will mail you the disk & docs after you return your warranty card.

I got mine in the mail about three days ago. I bought my computer in July.
Be sure to send in your warranty card, that's all I had to do.

Sending in your warranty should generate a basic interpreter by USNAIL.
