Can anyone give me a "consumers' reports" recommendation on word processing packages for the ATARI 800XL? I would like to write lengthy documents (e.g. books) and wonder how practical it would be to do this on the ATARI. In this regard, does anyone have any experience with modifying an ATARI 800XL to run an 80-column display for text only or text and graphics? Is this practical? By the way, I have access to information on the parallel bus connections on the 800XL, as well as some hardware and software related to ham radio applications - slow-scan TV reception (e.g. pictures from the space shuttle on some recent missions), Morse code keyboard operation (uses one external relay connected to the cassette start/stop line if you want to key a transmitter) etc. Thanks for any answers that are available.
