[net.micro.atari] misc. questions from an ST novice

terrell@OHIO-STATE.CSNET (Eric Terrell) (12/09/85)

Can anyone recommend a C or Pascal compiler for the ST?

Can anyone recommend a disk copying program (that handles protected disks)?

Can anyone recommend a RAM disk program?

In Atari Logo, is there any way to have the flow of control constructs
control the execution of more than just one line? For example, the following
works:

repeat 4 [forward 100 right 12 back 40]

but this doesn't

repeat 4 [
forward 100 right 12 back 40]

The Atari Logo manual mentions that there is a comment delimiter, and
I believe it is ';' - but I couldn't get it to work. Does anyone know
how to place comments in Logo programs?

Thanks in advance,

I use the Aclyon C compiler that comes with the Dev. system. I am
quite happy with it. I also have Habba C, that I would'nt recommend to
anyone.
I have'nt used any of the Pascals, but they are available from OSS and
Antic. How about Modula-2. It is available from TDI (Dallas) for
69.95. I am awaiting my copy. I have read two very favorable reviews.
Bsides I much rather have Modula than Pascal.

Side Track from Monarch Dev. does a good job.
It only 24.95, and they also throw in a fast disk copy program.

I use M-Disk from Michtron. The new relese has the auto load feature.
The public domain one is not bad either. Using the source you can set
up your preferred size.
