[net.micro.atari] USA today article of December 30, 1985

An article in USA today (12/30/85) talked about Atari announcing that the
512k st would be sold in chain stores, and a 1 meg version of the st would
be carried by those stores currently carrying the 520st. Sounds like the 260ST
will be dropped!!?!?!!

Also, it appears the TOS rom chips will be going for about $20 and that they
will be shipped any day now. Gary Tramiel provided this info (TOS chips) to
my boss at a local store.

Some very reliable sources tell me that there is going to be a 1024ST announced
this month. It will be $999 (monochrome) and have 1meg memory, and a built in
DSDD floppy. Also the $599 20 meg disk. Don't know about when they are
shipping...
