If this is so, then I can buy my K-Mart ST, > plug in my colour TV, and buy the 70Hz monochrome that looks so > wonderful. I get the best of everything. This won't work because the frame and scanline frequencies are totally different. Your TV uses 60 Hz frame frequency, while the monochrome monitor has 70 Hz. This is only a small difference, but the difference in the scan line frequencies is too big. In monochrome mode, the scan line frequency is about twice as high as in color mode. So, you get one or the other, but not both at the same time. I would highly recommend the monochrome monitor, it is much better than everything I have seen before in this price range. The color mode is not too hot, I could not work more than one hour in front of the screen... And your TV will probably be worse than our color monitor, which means that you are forced to use low resolution if you want to decipher text on the screen.
