After receiving a lot of requests asking where I got the $25 850 and $75 disk drives I did a little investigating to see if I could remember the name of the place. The store is called San Salvage and is located in Nasau county in Long Island, NY. I think the town might be either Levittown, or Hempsted. If I had know there would have been so much interest, I would have bought some extras. I'm not sure how often they carry them but I do know that it wasn't a one time special. The store deals with items that have been discontinued, or overstocked and sells them for cheap. (something like cut-out records). From my understanding at the time, they will continue getting shipments of atari products. Hope this helps. Kurt* -------------------- Please note that this mail message is likely to be incomplete. "The store is called San Salvage and is located in Nasau county" Ah ha, Watson, a clue! Well, a little detective work revealed that there *is* a place called San Salvage, located in Farmingdale, L.I. They answered their phone (516/249-1818) to tell me that they are closed on Tuesdays (!). Stay tuned ... - Michel

Thanks for the info on San Salvage Co. I did some further checking . . . . . they are in Farmingdale NY, at 516-249-1818. They DO NOT take phone or mail orders!! Cash and carry only. They were closed today, but a woman who answered gave me the previous information. They will tell you over the phone if they have a particular item in stock and the price, but only when the store is officially open. If anyone lives in the Farmingdale area, I would certainly appreciate it if they would buy an 850 for me and I'll send a money order (or cash) to them. Any volunteers out there?? "San Salvage Co" Forget it - I just called them and they said they didn't have any more and weren't going to be getting any in the future. - Michel "If it sounds too good to be true - it is."
