There is an interesting article about Atari in the Jan 27th issue of Electronic Engineering Times. The author was very positive about Atari and the directon Jack Tramiel has been taking them. Some of the points were: Atari is continuing to sell about 15,000 units a month Warner has written off $240 million in notes from Atari Atari's finances are almost at a break even lpoint Developers are selling more software than they expected to at this time. (DEGAS has sold more than 10,000 copies) Also the article was positive about the two tier marketing aproach for the ST line (520's in mass market, and 1024's in the computer stores).( I still think that the mass market move was good, but the JS&A approach is going to give the machines a bad name). By the way, I purchased DEGAS last week and I am really happy with it. Hopefully we will be seeing more good news about Atari and the ST in the future. R.T. Bradstrum
