My 520ST is having trouble writing to floppies. For example, the TOS formatter gets to the working box, but then the screen goes white and the system crashes. The system also crashes when creating and deleting files, or when saving NEOChrome pictures. However, Megaroids does successfully write the high score file. Write-protected floppies are recognized; with protection removed, the system crashes on retry. After rebooting, I find the floppies are not formatted. Files do get created and deleted, although the files are always empty. I have the standard issue 520ST system with color monitor. The hardware seems to be working ok; I can boot the system, list files, and run programs. Does anybody have any ideas about this problem and its fix?
