[net.micro.atari] cpm80.tos

The recent posting of cpm80.tos is not public domain and should be
removed from any archives, public or private.

As several posters have noted, there is a copyright notice in the binary.
Atari here in the U.S. does own the rights to this software, and is
planning to release a working version here, for sale. They did not
comment on Uwe Hoch's claim that Atari Germany released it PD. They
did state that the German version is preliminary, and will not work
with rom tossed machines.

I think Atari should tell their German division about that. Today I got
two good news:
1. Atari Germany has released another, newer version of CP/M-80-Emulator
as Public Domain.
2. Today I read in a St magazine here about an interview with Alwin Stumpf
(President of Atari Germany) and Dr. Hans Riedl (Chief of the software
division), that the Emulator is distributed FREE!

If anybody thinks, that I havn't done right distributing the emulator,
I'm willing to send him the written permission of Atari Germany, in which
they state, that the emulator can be distributed free to any end user
(Of course it is in German language). But please send a return envelope
with postage.

Another thing: Before anybody sends me mail or asks via the net:

I DO NOT (!!!) POST THE NEW EMULATOR TO THE NET. ALSO I DON'T SEND IT BY
POSTAL OR E-MAIL TO ANYBODY. SO PLEASE DON'T ASK. I WILL NOT EVEN ANSWER
TO ANY QUESTIONS.

But I have a hint: If anybody wants the emulator, take a ticket for an
aeroplane :-) and visit good old Germany. Then go to an offical Atari
dealer, put out a 3.5 inch floppy and get the emulator copied. If you want
any address of an Atari dealer here, I will send it to you. The best way
is, I think, to fly to Germany via Frankfurt. About half an hour from the
air base is the German division of Atari. Go there and get your copy of
the emulator. :-) :-) :-).

In the meantime, I think you should take the emulator from your PD archives
and wait what Atari will do in the future.
