Hi everybody, get excited! I stopped in a local bookstore (Dalton's)
yesterday and they had the GEM Programmer's Manual by Abacus. After
skimming thru the book, I highly recommend it to the people that have
HIPPO-C or want to program in assembler. The book seems to be very
thorough in describing the VDI and AES functions. I compared it with
the HIPPO-C listing of VDI and AES functions; the book describes about
75% of the VDI functions and about 120% of the AES functions that
HIPPO-C supports. And there are plenty of good example programs in both
C and assembler.

The book fills in some of the missing documentation that is required
for really programming the ST. I was totally amazed in what GEM will do
for you. For example, GEM already has built into it the 36 different
pattern fill designs and all you have to do is ask for them. Another
example is that it also has special graghics text such as bold, italic,
outline, underline, etc. and you can get combinations. Yet another example
is that GEM will draw boxs, circle, ellipses, arcs, ellipical arcs, and
etc. for you and fill them in with any color pattern you want. You can
also generate your own pattern designs. I am very excited about this book
and the information that it has given to me. So far I have been blind in
trying to program the ST and now I have color!!!!

This book is even better that their ST INTERNALs book, so go and get your
copy NOW! I have mine.
