[net.social] contract

mhauck (11/12/82)

I'm married and in some cases it would be a good thing to have a premarriage
aggrement, such as the case where one of the couple had something of value
that the other might want. This could be money, stock, jewelery, antiques
anything of great value. If the person was marring just for these then the
refusal to sign such a contract would make it clear, I say this because if
the person loved the other one it would not matter and they should sign it.
I know the person requested to sign could get upset, but once the other
explained it as above I would hope the person would understand and sign.

I had nothing to start with and neither did my husband, but what we have
bought we have bought together, both paying half. We both work for Bell
Labs so money is not a big thing, yet we don't go out on spending sprees
either.

This is only my opinion I respect others rights to disagree with me.
