[net.social] Old roles in a Christmas Carol

heliotis (12/09/82)

This I found in a book of Christmas carols I have at home. Can you believe
it? It's from that song with the refrain:

"Up on the house top *click*click*click*
Down through the chimney with good Saint Nick"

OK, here's verse 2 (from memory, so some words are wrong)

"First comes the stocking of little Nell
She'll sure be happy I can tell
She got dolly that laughs and cries
One that opens and shuts her eyes"

Not bad, right? Sure, boys should have dolls, too, but, oh well. Now,
read the 3rd verse:

"Next comes the stocking of little Will
Come the morning what a thrill
He'll get a hammer with lots of tacks
A bright red ball and a whip that cracks"

Go ahead, Will, practice on Nell so you'll know how to handle your
wife when you get married!
