[net.social] Opening Doors and Harassment

hazel (01/26/83)

This morning, on my way to work, I wound up behind a school bus with
a handfull of kids (~10 to 12 year-olds, I'd say) on it. It stopped
to pick up a few more kids. As one girl was about five feet away
from the door, she dropped her books. Suddenly a boy bolted out of
the bus, picked up the girl's books, stood aside to allow her to
enter, and subsequently sat down beside her.

Then I wondered: Is this polite little boy going to grow up to be
one of those men who harass women by opening doors for them?

(Note the sarcasm.)
