Seems like this is a good question for net.social: would the married folks out there care to share anything about their weddings? Were they big? Small? Cheap? Expensive? Fancy? Simple? Did you do anything particularly traditional or particularly non-traditional that made your wedding special for you? Is there anything you'd do differently if you had the chance to do it over? Feel free to post to the net or reply by mail and I'll summarize. Thanks. ---- Prentiss Riddle {ihnp4,seismo,ctvax}!ut-sally!riddle riddle@ut-sally.UUCP

#R:ut-sally:-33600:uiucuxc:21100001:000:1924 uiucuxc!pking Nov 10 16:49:00 1983 the night before i was to be married, my future husband and a friend of his went motorcycle riding while myself and my maid of honor went to a highschool football game, everything was going along smoothly until about 12:30 am when my sister awoke the household with "fire, fire, run!" it seems she had fallen asleep in bed with a lighted cigarette and caught things on fire. once that was successfully taken care of, (put out with minimal damage) we all settled back down to sleep -- barely an hour later my future husband called he and his friend had been in a serious motorcycle accident and was in the emergency room -- driving through every red light in town my mother and myself and my maid of honor went over there -- my future husband was badly scraped, bruised and battered -- he refused to stay in the hospital, telling the doctor he was supposed to be getting married next day -- the doctor told him he was lucky to just be alive -- (his friend required surgery and a slow recovery) well, after much fussing and fighting we WERE married the next day, with very little fuss (thankfully it was a small wedding anyway) -- the groom held up for most of the ceremony before collapsing at the motel we had chosen for our "honeymoon" which i spent watching the late show, the late late show, while he groaned and moaned with pain -- the clincher came the next morning when the maid came to make up the bed and saw severely blood stained sheets (from the cuts and scrapes on my husband's arms and legs), the poor woman gave us a strange look and got the h*** out of there, i'm sure she thought we were up to very kinky things --- i have decided if i am ever so fortunate as to get married again i will chain my husband to be to the bed, me or something to keep him from doing himself harm -- looking back i guess now i have something to tell my grand children about, how NOT to spend your wedding day and night --
