I went to one eight years ago. It was held in the apple orchard at the
D.H. Lawrence ranch in northern New Mexico. The person who was
"officiating" talked for a bit about the bride and bridegroom and then
invited those present to stand up and say whatever they wanted to say
about the bride and bridegroom. Unfortunately/fortunately no one else
said anything. Then a friend of the bride's played a very nice flute
solo and everyone went over to sign the marriage license. Afterwards, we
had apple juice and Pelican Punch to drink and carrot cake to eat.
The bride's parents seemed quite perplexed by the whole thing.

I had a nice time. Later than afternoon we went to Espanola and had great
green chile hamburgers.
