[net.social] Early Rock 'n Roll Dances

lake@alberta.UUCP (Robert Lake) (01/08/85)

First off, apologies in advance if this article is inappropriate for
these groups, but the people I'm aiming this article for most likely
subscribe to these groups.

A group of us in about four weeks time plan to teach a class the dances
done during the Graffiti Era (~1956-65). I would be interested in hear-
ing about any dance, how it is done, and the titles of songs suitable
(or written) for the dance, which pertains to this era. Some examples
which I am aware of include the Bop, Monkey, Frug, Hitchhiker, Jerk, Swim,
and Twist. However, I have been unable to find information about others
such as the Locomotion, Watusi, Monster Mash (if it exists), etc.

If you are able to help, please mail me your information. I'll post a
summary in a couple of weeks if there is sufficient interest.

Thanks in advance.
