Does anybody know the formula for determining a quarterback's rating? I saw an article in the Chicago Sun-Times today that said Walter Payton has the highest rating possible - 158.3. But it never said exactly how this was computed. Payton accomplished this by throwing two passes Sunday against the Saints, both for TD's. So his completion rate is perfect, his TD rate is perfect, his interception rate is perfect (0) and his average gain per pass is "off the chart" (38.5)! These are the 4 things that are used to determine the rating, but I need to know the algorithm. Rich Barry ihnp4!ihuxt!barry
