For some crazy reason, I watched the Monday night football game between the Giants and Cardinals. It ended in a 20-20 tie, but St. Louis had many chances to win. I feel sorry for poor Neil O`Donahue. He missed a 40 yarder just before the end of regulation, missed a 19 yarder with a little over a minute to go in the OT, and after St. Louis intercepted with 40 seconds to go, he got one more chance at a 42 or 43 yarder and (you guessed it sports fans) missed it (all misses were wide). You want to talk about the end of the world? Neil probably felt like it happened 2 or 3 times. Kicker has to be the highest-pressure spot on a football team. One minute you can be a hero, next minute the goat. One might very well suspect that the lowly Cards will be looking for a new kicker. That`s the way of pro football. If you`re looking for a real high pressure job that can bring in plenty of bucks with the knowledge that if you mess up just once in an important situation you could be out on the streets again, send resume's to the St. Louis Cardinal football team. THREE ABC football games without the MOUTH. How heavenly! Or as Dick Enberg would say, "Oh my!" Looking forward to SD-WASH next Monday Tom O`Connor
