[net.sport.football] Bowl Day

ab3@pucc-h (Darth Wombat) (01/03/84)

After twelve hours of continuous football action, the big day is
over...and Ohio State and Pitt played a great, exciting game; too bad Ohio
St. won, or Snuffy Everett would have something to *really* remember...
the Dawgs showed a lot of grit standing up to Texas...UCLA demolished
Illinois and the second half was pointless (Apologies to Alan England--I was
pulling for Mike White and Co., but...) ... Auburn pulled it off without
even scoring a TD, and Michigan's defense never cracked... but the biggie
had to be the Hurricanes in the Orange Bowl refusing to be intimidated by
a bunch of overgrown farm boys; strategy and finesse triumph over brute
force and a one-man offense. Actually, I was kind of hoping Miami would
get the chance to run the score up; say 60-10 or something like that; after
all, Nebraska deserved it given a few of their manglings earlier this season.

That's alright, though; the Huskers will spend a miserable winter
and that suits me fine. Gloat, gloat.
