OK, you want us to talk about the USFL? I am not a big fan ot the
league, but I have noticed that my home town Los Angeles Express has
taken over first place in their division with a 9-7 record. This is
commendable since they were 2-5 at one point and 3 games behind Denver
(which has more or less collapsed).
This climb to first place happens to correspond to about the same time
$40M QB Steve Young has been playing. Perhaps he is earning his money?
He is having a good season amidst the anonymity of the USFL. To show you
how much the L.A. newspaper media cares about the USFL, after the Express
won last weeks game to go into first place, the highest page that the
game was covered in ANY paper's sportspage was Page 3! If the press is
not going to treat the USFL as a real league, then the sports fans in
this country won't either (as evidenced by the decling attendance at
most USFL cities). Any comments out there?
