For the college equivalent of the Raiders
in the ability to be kicked around for 3 quarters
and still come back and beat you, I nominate the Georgia Bulldogs
under Vince Dooley. In recent years, only Pitt, Clemson, and Auburn
have done it (held on to win), and each only once.
And they do it year after year without great quarterbacks
(typically mediocre ones that just win games),
but every year it seems that their offensive line
is composed mostly of seniors or guys who play like seniors.
This grudging vote comes from an frustrated Gator
who knows that to win the SEC, you gotta beat Georgia
(unless you're too chicken to play them most years, like Bama is).
