Well now, are there any Clemson rooters out there? Now that Miami has taken Auburn to task, where do you think the Tigers will be in the polls on Monday? The NY Times had them #1 last Sunday and USA TODAY had them #2 on Monday. The other two polls had them, I think, #8 and #4. (I mean the Clemson Tigers of course.) It is small consolation, but Charlie Pell finally got what he deserved for screwing up both Clemson and U. of Florida. In my opinion, the restrictions the NCAA placed on Clemson should be lifted in light of what has been found out about Pell's past pecadillos. Pell learned the art of coaching at Bear Bryants knee, but he must not have listened too well when it came to how to recruit players. The guy screwed Clemson to the barn door then picked up his marbles and left when the hounds came snooping at the door. The paper said that he resigned, but I have a feeling he was about to shown the door by the University of Florida. The NCAA, in its wisdom, will now probably put U of F on probation due to Pell's activities. Better they should ban Pell from college coaching and leave the schools alone. Bad news follows Pell like a swarm of flies to horse apples. Sure he's a good coach, but who needs three years of good teams and the three years of probation the school gets after he bugs out? Get off the soapbox T. C.. Back to who is going to be #1. I know all of you Big Blue, Turtle, and Techie fans are going to disagree, but that's why we have the games.
