[Blank line] Results from the latest weekend in the CFL: B.C. 34 Edmonton 32 It looked like a duel of quarterbacks, but in the end it was the kickers who had the showdown. Roy Dewalt of B.C. completed 29 of 49 passes for 479 yards and 4 TDs, while Matt Dunigan of Edmonton was 23 of 39 for 399 yards and one TD. But, it was Lui Passaglia who put B.C. ahead on a 54-yard field goal with less than a minute to go, then Dave Cutler tried a 45-yard field goal for Edmonton with 8 seconds left, and only came away with a rouge. (single) Montreal 27 Calgary 13 DB Harry Skipper of Montreal intercepted 3 Greg Vavra passes, returning one 69 yards for a TD to lead Montreal to its third win in a row. Don Sweet also added four field goals. Calgary didn't score until the fourth quarter, when replacement QB Bernard Quarles threw 2 TD passes. Toronto 31 Winnipeg 19 In what Ron Lancaster billed as the Grey Cup preview, the Toronto defense held the highest scoring team in the league to a single point in the second half. QB Joe Barnes led the winners with 24 of 38 passes completed for 366 yards. For Winnipeg, Tom Clements was 20 of 37 for 303 yards, and Willard Reaves, the league's leading rusher, gained 108 yards on 17 carries. Saskatchewan 31 Ottawa 15 QB Homer Jordan, starting his first game of the season, completed 23 of 36 passes for 309 yards, and the Saskatchewan defense intercepted 5 Ottawa passes to lead Saskatchewan to its fourth win in five games.
