[net.sport.football] CFL Opinions - October 2nd

[Unaccustomed as I am to public speaking, ...]

Due to the fear of people actually believing
some of my opinions, I've decided it would be better
to post them separately.

What's this Western Supremacy crap? The way
things are beginning to shape up, maybe I'll be
wrong about it this year. It still looks like
the last-place team in the West will end up
with a better record than the 3rd place team
in the East (last playoff berth), the last-place
team in the West won't deserve to make the play-offs
anyways, and the way Toronto and Montreal have been
playing lately, there's no chance of Ottawa or
Hamilton making the Grey Cup.

I still stand by my opinion that the West has been
stronger overall than the West for a long time -
this depends on what you consider a long time.
Okay, so maybe not everybody thinks 5 years is
a long time, but I do! I remember it was
pretty much the way it is now back in 1980,
and since 1981, when the CFL implemented the
complete interlocking schedule, the Western
teams have always outplayed the Eastern teams.

Anyways, the way things are shaping up, Saskatchewan
and Montreal have got to be the hottest teams going right
now. They play in Montreal on Saturday, and you can
believe nobody in Saskatchewan will be watching the
baseball playoffs! I'll predict the Riders will take the
game, partly because I'm biased and partly because
of Saskatchewan's awesome defense.

Previously, I predicted the Western Champion would
win the Grey Cup. I'm not so sure now. In the
Winnipeg-Toronto game last Sunday, the Argonauts
were darn impressive (that is, what little I saw,
since I was listening to the Saskatchewan game on
the radio). New prediction - Toronto takes it all
this year.
