[net.sport.football] What happened, Seagull fans?

woods@hao.UUCP (Greg Woods) (12/10/84)

I normally restrain from things like this, but the Seagull fans were *so*
obnoxious last week that I can't resist. 34-7??? KC isn't so wimpy after all,
huh guys? At least the Donkeys were in the game!
I must admit, however, that the Donkeys looked less than dominating in
beating the Chargers 16-13 today, a game I got to attend (BTW Seagull fans,
is it as hard to get tickets there as it is here?) Speaking of wimpy offenses...
Well, we all get to find out next Saturday, when the Donkeys and Seagulls
go for the division championship. If the Donkeys could only figure out a way
to cover Largent, they might have a chance. Without Warner, the Seagulls don't
seem to have much other offense (except for bribing the refs, of course! :-).

On a related note, I think the person last week who pointed out that teams
like Denver and Seattle, who have amassed a lot of victories on critical
turnovers, do poorly in the playoffs, has a point. I'm willing to bet it
will be Miami and San Francisco in Palo Alto this January, but no doubt
we Donkey fans and you Seagull fans will continue to hope. As long as it
isn't the Raiders, right guys? And look at the bright side, Dallas is
virtually out of the playoffs, after losing to Washington and having to
play Miami next week (Oh, my God, don't tell me I'll actually have to
root for Dallas to help the Donkeys get the home field advantage in
a possible AFC championship game against the Dolphins!)
Next week I better remember my heart medicine. Being a Bronco fan can
be hazardous to your health!
