GACCCKKKK!!!! Talk about the choke of the week! Elway throws 4 first half interceptions, scrambles 100 yards to gain ~53 yards rushing, and the Hawks still go out of their way to hand the Broncos the game on a silver platter. Hard as it is to believe, the game was actually closer than the 31-17 score indicates. This time the Hawks were the ones to die by the turnovers, which reinforces an opinion expressed here on the net last week. The playoffs are the time when the really talented teams show their stuff without relying on others' mistakes. This would usually cause me to go into an even deeper funk over Saturday's loss, except that there is something wrong with the Raiders of the Lost Bark. For a while on Sunday, I thought I was seeing the legendary Steel Curtain from Pittsburgh rise again. The Raider's score, however, was a non-score as attested to by instant replay. It would appear more likely that the Raiders themselves are in some sort of slump. The thing that really stood out to me was just how subdued Lyle Alzado was during the postgame interviews. Was that just the weariness of having just lost to the Steelers or was he thinking of coming up here to Seattle again? The last time they were here, the bar in the airport concourse almost didn't survive. (Along with Dokie Williams) I can't figure the Hawks out at this point. Losing 2 in a row at this time of the season isn't something that Chuck Knox or Tom Flores will stand for. Hopefully, both teams will play up to their abilities and give us a good show this weekend.
