A few humble predictions from an Elway hater who IS from Baltimore (and a graduate of UC Berkeley to boot!) : NFC --- East: NY Giants Central: Chicago Bears West: SF 49ers (Of course.) 1st Wildcard: St. Louis Cardinals (Suprise!) 2nd Wildcard: Green Bay Packers AFC --- East: Miami Dolphins Central: Pittsburgh Steelers West: LA Raiders (Ya try to ignore dem, but dey keep showin' up!) 1st Wildcard: Seattle Seahawks 2nd Wildcard: NY Jets (That's right! NO BRONCOS!!!) NFC Champs: SF 49ers AFC Champs: This one I find too close to call; either LA Raiders or Seattle Seahawks (probably decided in the last 10 seconds of the game) Superbowl Champs: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS I don't know why, but I get this strange idea that St. Louis is really gonna be out there, for some reason. I also have a similarly strange idea that, although they will generally be playing well, for some reason the Redskins just won't be able to get in gear until very late this season, too late to make the playoffs (I attribute this to their deep concern over the Reagan Administration's South African policy). The Steelers are gonna be big and bad and get the shit kicked out of them in the playoffs. The Jets and the Patriots will be in a dogfight all year for a wildcard, which the Jets will win when they hear the Patriots making wisecracks about their move to New Jersey. The Raiders will beat out the Seahawks for the AFC championship by coming up with a catchier song than last year's 'Raiderbusters'. The Broncos, lead by John 'The Punk' Elway, will have a losing season. The Dolphins will have a great season, but Marino won't be buying that Pepsi. Chicago will be totally awesome, but will lose the first playoff game, which will be a real heartbreaker, and everyone will feel real sorry for them, sending them sympathy cards, and presents, and shaking their heads, saying "Boy, I'll never understand how they lost that one..." The overwhelming drama resulting from this will land several members of the team guest appearances on 'Dynasty'. The Green Bay Packers will play most of their games in some of the worst weather seen in 10 tens. They will play their first playoff in perfect sunshine, however. This will completely unnerve them, resulting in the Packers making a record number of turnovers in a single game.
