> With the NFL football season fast approaching, everyone is starting > to mouth off about why THEIR team will win the Super Bowl. Well, here is a > chance to put your money where your mouth is. I am willing to keep a record > of people's predictions as to which team's will: > > 1) Win each Division > 2) Win the Wild Card spots in each Conference > 3) Win the Conference Championships > 4) Win the Super Bowl > It seems like what this forum needs is a Cowboys fan to take the abuse everyone likes to heap on them, so here I am and here's my picks for this season: NFC WEST: San Francisco 49er's There's no real competition in this division and the 49er's are the most talented and one of the best coached teams I've seen in years. NFC CENTRAL: Chicago Bears Another weak division, despite the return of Bud Grant. (The Packers? Forget it!) NFC WEST: St. Louis Cardinals If they don't do it this year, they never will. But it won't be easy. I've never seen this division so strong. Only 2 preseason loses in the whole bunch. Dallas and New York have both looked better than I expected. NFC WILDCARDS: New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys If Simms stays healthy. Otherwise, Washington will get it. Dallas is a sentimental pick, but their defense has looked improved. I'm banking on a good year from Danny White and a healthy offensive line. AFC EAST: Miami Dolphins They still have defensive problems, but the whole division has erractic offenses anyway and who cares about D when Marino can put up all those points? AFC CENTRAL: Pittsburg Steelers They could probably win this divsion with a .500 record with room to spare. Easily football's weakest division now. AFC WEST: Seattle Seahawks With Curt Warner back and Jim Zorn off the team (:-), this could be a big year for them. AFC WILDCARDS: Denver Broncos and New England Patriots Can Elway get discipline? I think so. Joe Namath is right about him throwing reckless passes. The Patsies should be able to make it this year with Eason maturing and the receivers he has to throw to plus a weak division outside of Miami. Los Angeles won't get a miracle from Plunkett and Marc Wilson has never shown anything. NFC CHAMPS: San Francisco 49er's They just look too good. AFC CHAMPS: Seatle Seahawks If their defense performs against Miami in the title game. TAKING IT ALL IN THE NEW ORLEANS: Seatle Seahawks Every list of picks needs an upset!
