Houston beat Miami? THE VIKINGS BEAT THE 49ER'S? (choke, gasp, burp...) Hmmmm - this could screw everything up. Oh well, at least the Raiders won against the Jets, like they were supposed to. But something tells me this is going to be a long season after all. -- Renegade of Berkeley MDS Qantel or Renegade Systems ucbvax!dual!qantel!israel ucbvax!dual!qantel!hamster!israel Disclaimer: "Who, me? I won a football pool by picking, among others, that the Vikes would beat the 49ers. I said in my predictions that the Vikings were going to surprise alot of people...this is just a start. The Vikes were certainly fortunate that SF coughed up the ball SEVEN times (Vikes covered 5, incl. Joey Browner with a record 3 recoveries). The Viking offense needs improvement, but they were able to put points on the board when SF gave them good field position via turnovers and the Vikes kept their turnovers to a minimum. The defense bent but didn't break, giving up one TD to the 49ers in 3 quarters of football. Statistically, the game was no contest (Total Yards: SF - ~500, MN - ~250) but turnovers is a statistic too. Needless to say, as a Viking fan Sunday made my week, (Maybe my season...I hope not!). Pick of the Week: Take the Vikings and the points vs Tampa Bay. Mike Clifford
