Tim's Top Ten - 9/30
--------------------
1) Michigan (3-0-0) (1)
2) Iowa (3-0-0) (3)
3) Southern Methodist (2-0-0) (9)
4) Florida State (4-0-0) (6)
5) Nebraska (2-1-0) (-)
6) Ohio State (3-0-0) (7)
7) Penn State (4-0-0) (8)
8) Tennessee (1-0-1) (-)
9) Florida (2-0-1) (-)
10) Alabama (4-0-0) (10)
Michigan - The Wolverines have not allowed a touchdown so
far this year against 3 highly rated opponents.
Iowa - They look great but have played no one; it won't be
so easy once they start the Big 10, which compiled a 24-6
out-of-conference record this year.
Southern Methodist - Very impressive win at TCU.
Florida State - Although they have not looked good since the
victory over Nebraska, they continue to win.
Nebraska - They have played tremendous since the FSU game.
I wish Osbourne would run up the score on someone his own
size.
Ohio State - They could really use Keith Byars this week at
Illinois, a team which is much better than their previous
performances indicate.
Penn State - They have not looked very good in any of their
4 wins, but they have won against some pretty tough
opponents.
Tennessee - They looked great against a supposedly tough
Auburn team and they should have beaten UCLA.
Florida - With a little defensive help, this team could be
awesome. Luckily, LSU does not have a powerful offense in
their match up this week at Baton Rouge.
Alabama - They look good but have played week opponents thus
far (except for Georgia). They have a week off before they
start their real schedule at Penn State.
Dropped Out - 9/30
-------------------
-) Auburn (2-1-0) (2)
-) Oklahoma (1-0-0) (4)
-) Maryland (2-2-0) (5)
Auburn - They looked embarrassing against Tennessee.
Oklahoma - Their defense was tremendous; however, a weak
Minnesota defense was able to shut the Sooners down.
Minnesota had several chances to win in the final minutes.
With their good defensive base and several weeks to bring
around their offense, they should be fantastic when by the
final 3 games - Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and SMU.
Maryland - Now they can return to the friendly confines of
the ACC.
