Who would have believed it? The Buffs DESTROYED Iowa State, 40-6. Beating Iowa State is no big surprise, but by such a lopsided score is. Rumor has it they even got a vote for the AP poll this week! Tied for 30th! And a 5-1 record from a team that was 1-10 last year. Last year it would have taken them 4 games to score 40 points! We'll find out if they're for real or not this week. Due to good performances the last couple of weeks, the Buffs game against Nebraska (at Lincoln) will be on national TV. Full-scale national humiliation. But cheer up, Buffalo fans; Nebraska COULD fumble 5 times inside their own 10. Miracles DO happen! :-) --Greg P.S. The Buffs have not beaten Nebraska since the late 60's... -- {ucbvax!hplabs | allegra!nbires | decvax!noao | harpo!seismo | ihnp4!noao} !hao!woods CSNET: woods@NCAR ARPA: woods%ncar@CSNET-RELAY

I would be interested in hearing about other programs that have accomplished a similar reversal of fortunes, especially when no coaching change was involved. Boy, this is fun. I hope we're still this giddy AFTER we play Nebraska, Oklahoma, et. al. -- Charles Carrington charlie@nbires.UUCP (303) 444-5710 NBI Inc, Boulder CO

Without QB Hatcher the Buffaloes have virtually no chance of winning in Lincoln Saturday. With him, it would take an error-free effort with lots of errors from the Huskers. -- --peter gross UUCP: {hplabs, seismo}!hao!pag CSNET: pag@ncar.csnet ARPA: pag%ncar@csnet-relay.arpa
