I don't know about others, but I find it hard to give much respect to the SEC as a conference. Aren't conference teams supposed to play each other? How many times did Alabama play Georgia in the last 6 years? One? -- James C. Armstrong, Jnr. {ihnp4,cbosgd,akgua}!abnji!nyssa

Kevin Kinder is correct. For nearly eight years, until this year, all of the Big 10 teams played each other during the season. Yes, that only left two nonconference games a year, but they didn't mind. The thrill of it all was playing each other (just attend any Big Ten conference game. You'll see excitement). Incidently, Illinois was not the only team in the Big Ten to drop one inter- conference game this year. ALL of the Big Ten teams played three nonconference games this year. Robert A. Ekblaw
