YAAAAWWWWWNNNNNNNNNN !!! Well, George woke up from his hibernation. We apologize for not posting last week's top 20 or so and picks for George. Basically, we didn't have any time to do it. We know how much all of you look forward to seeing George fall flat on his face from week to week so here we are again to make everyone happy. The past two weeks were fairly successful for George. For the 10/26 games, George picked 24 winners, 10 losers, and lost 6 to his spread. For the 11/02 games, George went 26, 7 and 7. For the season, George has picked 177 winners, 72 losers, and lost 53 to the spread out of a total of 302 games predicted. Just counting picking the winning teams gives George an astounding 76 % right. Not bad for a bunch of bits. As for his spread record, here it is for the past two weeks. Points 0-4 5-9 10-14 15-19 20-up Total Week 9 7 10 8 5 10 40 Week 10 9 10 10 4 7 40 Season 70 72 52 33 75 302 George's top twenty or so has tossed and turned. Once again Penn State has failed to make it due the fact that they can't clobber anyone. I think out of 8 games that they've one this year, six of them have been won by a touchdown or less. That won't cut it for George's power ratings. Notre Dame is the surprise entry for this week. I think Gerry Faust can breathe a little easier especially since they clobbered USC. So here is George's list. George's Top Twenty (or so) - Week eleven 1. Nebraska Cornhuskers 12. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2. Michigan Wolverines 13. Arkansas Razorbacks 3. Air Force Falcons 14. Auburn Tigers 4. Florida Gators 15. Georgia Bulldogs 5. Miami Hurricanes 16. Oklahoma Sooners 6. Brigham Young Cougars 17. Tennessee Volunteers 7. Ohio State Buckeyes 18. Southern Methodist Mustangs 8. Iowa Hawkeyes 19. Alabama Crimson Tide 9. Baylor Bears 20. Louisiana State Tigers 10. Maryland Terrapins 21. Oklahoma State Cowboys 11. UCLA Bruins 22. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Now on to this week's games. An interesting matchup will be #19 Alabama at #20 LSU. George says LSU by 2 but that's with a 3 point home field advantage to them. I think the Tide wants the SEC badly and will win. #4 Florida will romp over #15 Georgia by better than what George says (4). #5 Miami at #10 Maryland should be a tossup. George says Maryland by 2 but I think Miami wants revenge too much for last years come back. Here are the others: Alabama at Louisiana State Louisiana State by 2 Army at Air Force Air Force by 14 Baylor at Arkansas Arkansas by 1 Clemson at North Carolina Clemson by 1 Colorado at Kansas Kansas by 1 Cornell at Yale University Yale University by 4 Dartmouth College at Columbia Dartmouth College by 10 Duke at Wake Forest Wake Forest by 4 Florida State at South Carolina Florida State by 8 Georgia vs Florida Florida by 4 Hawaii at Texas-El Paso Hawaii by 11 Illinois at Iowa Iowa by 10 Iowa State at Nebraska Nebraska by 26 Kansas State at Oklahoma State Oklahoma State by 21 Kentucky at Vanderbilt Kentucky by 9 Louisville at Virginia Tech Virginia Tech by 21 Miami at Maryland Maryland by 2 Michigan State at Indiana Michigan State by 1 Mississippi at Notre Dame Notre Dame by 19 New Mexico at Utah Utah by 16 Oklahoma at Missouri Oklahoma by 15 Oregon State at Stanford Stanford by 4 Ohio State at Northwestern Ohio State by 20 Pennsylvania at Colgate Colgate by 13 Pittsburgh at Temple Pittsburgh by 2 Purdue at Michigan Michigan by 17 Rice at Southern Methodist Southern Methodist by 23 Rutgers at West Virginia West Virginia by 10 San Diego State at Wyoming San Diego State by 10 Syracuse at Navy Syracuse by 2 Texas Christian at Texas Tech Texas Tech by 6 Tennessee at Memphis State Tennessee by 12 Texas at Houston Texas by 7 UCLA at Arizona UCLA by 6 Southern Cal at California Southern Cal by 10 Virginia at North Carolina State Virginia by 6 Washington at Arizona State Arizona State by 4 Wisconsin at Minnesota Minnesota by 8 That's it for this week's prognostications. Be looking within the next two weeks for "Debbie does Dallas." Er, I mean "George does Roundball" over in ../hoops. We are working on his power ratings right now. Please keep the cards and letters coming. I'm surprised no one tried to wake George up himself from last week's slumber. Anyway, have a good week and here's hoping your team wins.
