[net.sport.football] Big Ten 11/2

ekblaw@uiucdcs.CS.UIUC.EDU (11/01/85)

Despite Mr. Moore asinine comments (my refutes follow as responses. I am
sure you all will agree with my rational arguments instead of his obviously
frantic emotional pleas), the Big Ten is still a high-powered conference
(just look at our representatives in the Top Twenty). With that in mind,
it's on to this week's Big Ten games:

Michigan at Illinois Illinois by 2 15:13
Iowa at Ohio State Iowa by 10
Minnesota at Mich. State	MSU by 3 !
Indiana at Wisconsin Indiana by 6
Northwestern at Purdue Purdue by 12

Comments:

1) Michigan is really good at stopping touchdowns, but Illinois has Chris
White. We don't need touchdowns! White for 5 field goals while
our defense holds Michigan to 1 TD & 2 FGs.

2) Minnesota is good, but I think their record reflects playing the weaker
teams in the conference. True, they almost beat OSU, but they are
not as good this year as in the past. Too, MSU has a habit for
being a upset possibility in big week, and this is DEFINITELY a
big week for them. Watch for the upset, folks!

I'm sticking my neck out on two of these (see above), my I stand by my
decisions. Tomorrow will tell the tale!

Scenerio: :04 left in the game. Illinois & Michigan tied 3-3.
Illinois has the ball on the Michigan ~25. Chris
White called in for a routine FG.

The kick......its....up.....up OH! NO! ITS OFF!!!

	  Illinois and Michigan tie.

Just shows you even the best can have an off day.
