I agree that this system of determining a National Champion in College Football sucks (last year's controversy over BYU seems to have brought this problem to national attention). Perhaps, since it is now so important, some sort of playoff plan should be instigated. What does everyone else think? Robert A. Ekblaw

It seems to me that an ACC school is rarely in the chase for
National honors, but when Clemson did it a few years back,
they did play Georgia, didn't they? The ACC does play a
reasonably good national schedule; this year Maryland played (and
lost) to both Penn State and Michigan, should they have come through
undefeated, would you be discrediting them?
