[net.sport.football] NFL Picks, Week 11

ekblaw@uiucdcs.CS.UIUC.EDU (11/15/85)

Most of the recent notes on the notefile seems to be antagonistic. What a
shame! Football is, after all, a game! It is meant to be enjoyed, not to
be used as a weapon (shades of Pat Benatar!). Enjoy life. Remember, anxiety
is a leading cause of ulcers and heart trouble!

Now, on to this week's picks (one of the few nonantagonistic net ativities):
----------------------------

Buffalo at Cleveland Cleveland by 7 20:13
Chicago at Dallas Dallas by 3	*	20:17 *
Cincinnati at LA Raiders	Raiders by 4 24:20
Kansas City at San Francisco	49ers by 17 ! 27:10
LA Rams at Atlanta Rams by 18 ! 24:6
Miami at Indianapolis Miami by 14 27:13
Minnesota at Detroit Vikes by 11 24:13
New England at Seattle Pats by 4 *	27:23 *
New Orleans at Green Bay	Pack by 4 13:17
Pittsburgh at Houston Pitt by 11 24:13
St. Louis at Philadelphia	Philly by 4 13:17
San Diego at Denver Denver by 7 17:24
Tampa Bay at NY Jets Jets by 4 13:17

NY Giants at Washington Giants by 10 ! 27:17

*:	Chicago at Dallas
	-----------------

Chicago starts without QB Jim McMahon. Worse, they arre not sure they
can bring him in even if they get into trouble. Too, the Cowboys have a thing
about getting up for the big battles, and they are looking to be the ones to
end Chicago's winning streak. It'll be a tough defensive battle, with Dallas
probably coming out on top by a FG. If this game were in Chicago, I'd go with
the Bears by a FG. The home field crowd and emotion is going to be a big
factor in the game (hopefully not like Monday night, however).

*:	New England at Seattle
	----------------------

The Patriots have momentum on their side. Too, the teams of the AFC
West are getting a mite too cocky. I don't think that Seattle will take the
Patriots seriously for the first half. It may be too late after that, thanks
to the Pats defense. Watch for the score to be, like, 17:10 (Patriots) and
Seattle not coming back all the way.

That's all for this week. I've now had a couple of good weeks in a row, so
I'm hoping I can keep this up. I'm at 60% for the season, so I'm above
average.
