[net.sport.football] Annoying Fans, bad officials and what about the instant replay????

<--- Is there such a thing as this bug????? --->

I couldn't agree more with the anger felt by fans when a crowd at any
stadium takes over the game. I feel the same way when I see a fight
break out at the L.A. Coliseum. That certainly is not the reason I
pay my money. I go to the game to watch FOOTBALL, not idiots in the
stands. As to the comments on fans in Mile High Stadium, I saw an
interesting array of "junk" land in the end zone whenever 49 players
were present. I doubt that all of this can be laid in the lap of the
infamous "snowballers". ( Quick interjection for anyone who was not
listening to tonights game, Theisman is now being operated upon for
compound fractures to both bones in the upper area of the lower leg.
I guess that means just below the knee. No use of the leg for at least
six months. 'Skins are ahead with under 2 minutes to go. ) I have also
spoken to a number of players from opposing teams about the verbal abuse
received in Mile High and they all find the fans to be overly obnoxious.
As to Seattle and domed stadiums in general, the fans CANNOT be allowed
to control a game for whatever reason. Unfortunately, there is no provision
in NFL rules to prevent these situations. Penalizing the home team
'next year' is hardly justice to the injured party, this years visitors.
( Just saw an example of horrid officiating, I guess 'riding' the
receiver is o.k. this year. GO 'SKINS, just had an interception,
ought to be the end of this game!!!! )
I don't know that a penalty of yardage is the right response to fan
interfence, but something must be done. My fear is that a yardage
penalty will just cause more noise, or whatever, from the fans and
then what do you do? Cause the home team to forfeit????

For anyone who wishes to complain about bad officiating, how about the
end of tonights game? I am, personally, happy that the 'Skins won, but
the play before the interception sure looked like interference, see the
reference to riding above, and if that wasn't defensive holding on the
interception, then there is no such thing as defensive holding. What
about the use of instant replays for calls such as these? Should there
be a limit on the number of times it can be asked for by each team or
should it be at the discretion of an extra official in the press box?

Well, enough for now, I sure hope that I did this correctly!!!!!

Always a fan of the Silver and Black !!!!!!!

WE WILL BE BACK !!!!! ( Perhaps even later this year !!!! )

As for an 'Orange Crushmas', I sure am glad that someone still
believes in Santa Claus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
