Sorry, no cute subject line this week. Well, what we predicted would happen is happening. George has averaged himself out. His results in picking the games has stabilized. He had a slightly below average week last week. Out of 40 games, George picked 21 winners, 7 losers, and lost an above average (or under average depending on your point of view) 12 games to his spread. For the year, his record is 221-88-71==380 which gives him a 58% percentage of winners. That's a 1 percent drop from last week. His spread record was a little crazy. Here it is: Points 0-4 5-9 10-14 15-19 20-up Total Week 12 6 12 6 8 8 40 Season 88 89 63 46 94 380 HOORAY. Penn State finally cracked George's top twenty (or so) this week! They finally beat somebody bad (Notre Dame 36-6). Unfortunately it is late in the season and the power ratings do not adjust the way they did at the beginning of the season. So they did not move up much. The rest of the pack stayed the same (more or less). Here's the picture: George's Top Twenty (or so) - Week thirteen 1. Michigan Wolverines 13. Arkansas Razorbacks 2. Nebraska Cornhuskers 14. Georgia Bulldogs 3. Oklahoma Sooners 15. Tennessee Volunteers 4. Air Force Falcons 16. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 5. Miami Hurricanes 17. Florida Gators 6. Texas A&M Aggies It's a light week this week because some teams have off to gear up for the big rivalry game at the end of the season. Some teams have that game this Saturday. These games usually decide the bowl berths so a lot rides on emotion. I look for George to have a bad couple of weeks. Some games of interest include #2 Nebraska at #3 Oklahoma (George says Nebraska by 1), #12 Ohio State at #1 Michigan (Michigan by 13 but should be ignored), (real #1 but)#21 Penn State at Pitt (PSU by 2 but should be about 7), #20 SMU at #13 Arkansas (Arkansas by 6), and #8 UCLA at USC (UCLA by 9). Next week the bowls will be out (with the slight exception of some of the contracted ones). George will also predict the bowls before they come around. I think there is only two more weeks of the regular season left. Hope everyone has had fun this season and also hope you all enjoy the rivalry weeks ahead. Til next week!! George P.
