[net.sport.football] Big Ten Plus National, 11/23

ekblaw@uiucdcs.CS.UIUC.EDU (11/22/85)

Forget it! I'm sick of the Bulldogs! They win when I pick 'em to lose, and
they lose when I pick 'em to win. I don't care what happens to 'em now, I
just hope they don't make a bowl bid. They'll do whatever I pick them not to
do, and I hate to lose bowl picks!

Anyway, on we go this week....

Big TEN (I wish people would get our name right. Sigh!)
-------

Illinois at Northwestern: Ha, ha, ha! I love starting out with an easy one.
It starts me on the right track. Illinois wins this game and a bid
to the Peach Bowl. See ya in Atlanta, y'all!

		Illinois by 14.

Purdue at Indiana: This is rich! Two unpredictable teams facing off against
each other! I'd love to pick Indiana for their second conference win,
	but THAT unpredictable they aren't!

		Purdue by 7.

Minnesota at Iowa: Play the funeral march for Minnesota, they've had it! This
will be their fourth loss in five weeks, and Lou Holtz will be
wondering where the season went. They have a shot at a bowl bid,
though, so we might see them again this year.

		Iowa by 10.

Ohio State at Michigan: This one's a toughie, folks! OSU is angry about their
defeat last week, but Michigan has a tough defense. This will be a
close game, but I think that Michigan has the edge.

Michigan by 3 (maybe a tie?)

Michigan State at Wisconsin: Watch for MSU in the 2nd Cherry Bowl this year!

		MSU by 6.

National Championship
---------------------

Penn State at Pittsburgh: Pitt's tough, but so are the Lions. After PSU's
impressive game against Notre Dame last week, I have to go with the
	Nittany Lions on this one.

		Penn State by 4.

Oklahoma (Nebraska) at Nebraska (Oklahoma): Where is this game being played?
I've received conflicting information on who is playing where. Oh,
well, I'll give it a shot anyway. This is going to be a knockout-
drag-down fight, but I think Nebraska will face Penn State in the
Orange Bowl to decide the National Champion this year. Now THAT'S
going to be an exciting bowl game!

		Nebraska by 1.

Southwest
---------

Baylor at Texas: I picked Baylor last week out of sentiment, but I ain't nuts!
Texas has beaten them thirty years in a row. Watch for #31.

		Texas by 7.

SEC
---

Florida State at Florida: Florida. Nuff said.

		Florida by 10.

Colorado State at Miami, Fla.: Ha, ha! This is rich! What kind of chance
does Colorado State think they have. Slim, at best, I think.

		Miami by 14.

PAC 10
------

UCLA at USC: It'll be Iowa against UCLA in the Rose Bowl this year, and I
it's the Big Ten's year to win. Iowa beat Texas by a huge margin last
year, and Iowa is just as good (maybe better) as last year. The PAC 10
will only have a 5-year winning streak in the Rose Bowl.

		UCLA by 6.

That's it, folks! Have a great weekend!
