[net.sport.football] George winds it all down.

gpb@msdc.UUCP (George P. Burdell) (12/03/85)

Here we are! This is last posting for George for the regular season. In
a light week, George did very well. He picked 9 winners, 2 losers, and lost
2 to his spread. For the season, George is at 247-100-79==426. Here is
George's point spread rating for last week and the season:

    Points 0-4 5-9 10-14 15-19 20-up Total
    Week 14 6 3 1 1 2 13
    Season 102 102 70 48 104 426

Going in to the final week, George's top twenty or so has found it's
balancing point. It's about time. The season is only 14 weeks old!!
Anyway, look for the following to be the same after the bowls are over
and the national champion is crowned. Michigan is too far ahead to
be caught in George's poll. But you never know. Here's George's last
top twenty in the regular season. The next one will be after the bowls.

George's Top Twenty (or so) - Week fifteen

1. Michigan Wolverines 12. Arkansas Razorbacks
2. Oklahoma Sooners 13. Texas A&M Aggies
3. Nebraska Cornhuskers 14. Florida Gators
4. Miami Hurricanes 15. Ohio State Buckeyes
5. Air Force Falcons 16. Georgia Bulldogs
6. Iowa Hawkeyes 17. Baylor Bears
7. Brigham Young Cougars 18. Penn State Nittany Lions
8. Tennessee Volunteers 19. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
9. Auburn Tigers 20. Alabama Crimson Tide
10. Maryland Terrapins 21. Southern Methodist Mustangs
11. UCLA Bruins 22. Louisiana State Tigers

Here are the four predicted games for this week. No big surprises and
none of these games has any effect on the bowls (except maybe removing
the luster of one).

Brigham Young at Hawaii Brigham Young by 10
Navy vs Army Army by 5
Southern Methodist at Oklahoma Oklahoma by 13
Wyoming at Texas-El Paso Texas-El Paso by 3

As we said above, this will be our final posting til after the bowl games.
We enjoyed doing this for all you college gridiron fans out there. Hope
you enjoyed reading it each week. From gatech!win & msdc!mannie, as well
as George, we wish you the very best of the holiday season coming up and
a very Happy New Year. We will be back with you in 1986.
