<Heh, heh, heh. < <Super Bowl XX - 13-13 going into OT, first team to make a mistake loses. It <may take two or three OT's... At any rate, a 9-10 point spread is absurd. I don't know. Sure, it might not happen (that's ALWAYS possible), but I don't think the spread is ABSURD. I think if they're EVEN on "breaks" (turnovers, bad calls, etc.), the spread is about right. I agree that the Pats are a good team - probably better than, say, Miami. It's unfortunate, though, that their offensive strength (running) plays right into the hands of the Bears defense. Things may have been different in a Bears-Miami rematch than they were last month, but Miami DID show that you have to be VERY GOOD at passing to be able to beat the Bears. I believe the Pats can win, but only if they have a few tricks up their sleeves and get a couple breaks. Earlier (just before the Giants game, I think), Buddy Ryan said that one week wasn't enough to prepare for the Bears defense, if "preparation" means "making a lot of changes", but that two weeks IS enough. But you still have to execute. Who knows? I just hope we can say more about this year's SB underdog than how likely they are to beat the spread. I'd sure like to see a good game for a change.
