[net.lsi] Running the VAX version of Magic on a workstation

tamir@ucla-cs.UUCP (02/05/86)

Has anyone tried using a SUN, Apollo, or some other workstation
as a time-shared machine for the VAX version of Magic ?
It seems that a 68020 based workstation, such as the SUN 3,
should be able to support 2-3 users on AED terminals
running Magic.

The 1986 release of Magic suports Sun workstations. The source tape
also includes my modifications for porting it to the Apollos. It
is almost trivial to get running on an Apollo if you wish to run it
with attached terminals, though I'm not sure why you would. Here at
the University of Michigan, we are running Magic on Apollo DN550, DN560
and DN660 workstations.

If anyone needs help with this installation, feel free to reply. I gave
a mail address in my writeup, but I'm not sure it's working very well.
