Is this news group still alive? Assuming that it is, I've a question for you East Coast small boat sailors. A friend is interested in getting started in sailing by buying a beach boat (Sunfish, or some such). However, he remarked that all the beaches he was used to swimming from wouldn't allow such a boat to be launched. He lives on the Connecticut shore of Long Island Sound, and, I'm afraid I wasn't able to help him much. So, do any of you all know of some relatively protected waters where a beach boat can be launched? Inland waters count too.
