I have just become the owner of record of a very strange outboard motor. Perhaps someone out there can tell me something about it. This motor is a Techumsa(sp) lawn mower engine mounted on a lower drive unit. The whole thing looks as if it was intended to work this way. The motor looks as if it can be unbolted from the lower unit and used on other devices. Of course there is no reverse, no neutral, no speed regulation except by turning the regular lawn mower dial on the side. Steering is accomplished with a handle which is bolted to a wooden platform which goes between the motor and lower unit. Does anyone have any idea how old such a unit might be? What horsepower it might be? The ratings plate has been painted over so I can't find much information or the serial number. Replies and jokes will be appreciated. T. C. Wheeler
