There have been a few articles here from time to time, but not much. What do you want to discuss? I'd be happy to participate. I have 15 years whitewater experience, 12 years C-1 experience, 10 years racing (mainly slalom) experience, and have spent lots of time just playing around. Where are you and what kind of boating do you do? Anyone else out there? Geoffrey Baum

This sounds like a fine place for the canoe discussions. When I first started reading this section there were only discussions on keel boats, but things seem to be a little more diversified now. After all, canoes are boats...

So are submarines(:->) Seriously, I have a canoe & would love to know if anyone has tricks to keep them watertight. This spring I sanded & repainted my wood & canvass canoe using a tinted plastic varnish. The job looked great but only lasted a couple of days in the water. Now I get wet again. OK...OK...OK so there is a little chip out of one spot but this is inevitable. Do I need a new canvas? What do you look for to tell for sure? Someday I'll own a 65 foot schooner. No, I don't mean the beer! Cheers, Fred Williams
