One of the programs in the "Great River Journeys" series now playing on a PBS station near you (I believe it's the first one) features an attempt to descend the Waghi (sp?) River in New Guinea; the outfitter is Sobek (Richard Bangs & Co.) who are also known for their 1979 attempt to raft the Indus in Pakistan.
