What sort of taxes (if any) do Federal congress members pay? Do they pay Social Security and/or Income tax? Do they receive pensions after they are voted out or retire? I think the president receives approx. $60k a year in pension after his term is up. Shouldn't those polititions that scream raise taxes, have to pay those raised taxes? Another question: Don't the social programs total to much more than the defense budget? And hence, even a total cutback on the defense increases would not come close to solving the deficit problem? Is it true that due to cost of living increases, that some retired personnel are receiving more than the people currently performing the same job they had before retiring? Not being sure of any of the answers to any of these questions, I refrain from flaming. However, answers to these questions could lead to some decent subjects for this news group.
