[net.politics] Roosevelt response

---------------------
I do think that Roosevelt's attempt to get us out of a depression was
wrong, and further, I think it was largely in-effectual. Depressions
and recessions end of their own accord, because economies tend to be
self-correcting even when thrown violently of course by government
interference. (A study of the various economic difficulties experienced
through-out history shows that it is usually govt interference that
causes the big disasters. The book "MONEY - Whence it came and where
it went" by Galbraith makes instructive reading on this topic.)

I believe that any economy, modern and technological ones especially,
will run most effectively without government interference beyond its'
basic role of protecting rights of the participants in that economy.
