--------------------- I do think that Roosevelt's attempt to get us out of a depression was wrong, and further, I think it was largely in-effectual. Depressions and recessions end of their own accord, because economies tend to be self-correcting even when thrown violently of course by government interference. (A study of the various economic difficulties experienced through-out history shows that it is usually govt interference that causes the big disasters. The book "MONEY - Whence it came and where it went" by Galbraith makes instructive reading on this topic.) I believe that any economy, modern and technological ones especially, will run most effectively without government interference beyond its' basic role of protecting rights of the participants in that economy.
